The Arkansas Heart Hospital specializes in providing a high level of cardiovascular care in a patient-focused environment. The 24-hour Emergency Center serves patients with any medical need. Arkansas Heart Hospital is the first non-teaching facility in the nation and 12th in the world to offer the cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging system, a noninvasive outpatient procedure that allows cardiologists to view 3-D images of the heart and vascular system.

The state’s largest health care network, Baptist Health consists of more than 80 facilities including major medical centers, family clinics, and therapy and wellness centers, with the largest facility in Little Rock and others in North Little Rock, Heber Springs and Arkadelphia. The Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute has treated cancer patients at seven Arkansas locations in the past 30 years. Programs at CARTI include support groups for cancer patients and their families, Cancer-Answers luncheons, weekend patient retreats, and counseling.

This health system consists of two of the busiest veterans’ administration medical centers in the country. The John L. McClellan hospital in Little Rock focuses on acute care, while the Towbin Health Care Center in North Little Rock provides long-term, chronic care. Community-based outpatient clinics are located in Mountain Home, El Dorado and Hot Springs.
